Copenger is pleased to present Drawing, Writing, Painting, a group exhibition at Broadway Laundry Center featuring ten artists working across different disciplines.
Five artists were invited to share existing works, then these works were then given to five additional artists, who were invited to respond to them visually and/or linguistically. The original works and their responses are presented side by side, creating a dialogue between  artists, mediums, and modes of making.
This exhibition marks the first collaboration between Copenger and Broadway Laundry Center. Situated in an everyday environment, the exhibition considers the tasks we perform both within and outside of the art space: washing, drying, folding, writing, reading, looking, and waiting. By placing artistic practices alongside these ordinary activities, Drawing, Writing, Painting considers art and everyday life on the same plane, rather than merging art and life, maybe they are already embedded within each other.
Much gratitude to Gerry at Broadway Laundromat for supporting our work.
